Looking around my room and thinking about my life, I'm reminded of what matters the most. I'm reminded of Love. What I love is a big part of who I am. Where my heart is, that's where I am.
I have been wanting to go to the beach for what feels like an eternity, but, here and now, I feel content where I am. I have wanted a dog (a Cocker Spaniel) for as long as I can remember, yet I'm content. I would if I could change a few things about my physically, but I'm content. I may not be on a beach, but there are others. I may not have my puppy, but there are others. I may not have the perfect body, but there are others. That's not what matters. Dreams are just a part of my heart. It's my heart that matters. What matters most is Love.
The world carries us away on a roller coaster of clocks, schedules, worries, fears, and hospitals and if you were to try and escape, you would be called crazy or foolish. Yet it is the world that is crazy or foolish, not seeing beyond the dull, gray walls to a world of wonders and colors, no artistic rendering could ever truly capture.
To feel wet sand between your toes... No, the world wears shoes and walks on concrete. To smell the crisp morning air off the ocean... No, that's what air fresheners are for. To simply breath... No time to think. To just sit there and watch all the colors of the sunset as they are artistically drawn out before your very eyes... No, we have our evening sit coms. To love... "What's love got to do with it?" To live...
All the technology of this world is continuously outdated. We struggle in an endless loop. Everything we do in this life to serve materialism or ourselves passes away. This entire world passes away. We live, we die. We wonder why. Every moment is a gift on borrowed time. Life was not meant to be complicated. the world is a simple place and therefore it's a beautiful place. Take in the beauty and the wonders of God's creation and don't ask yourself if you have time. You only have as much time as God gives you. Sometime when you're watching television, ask yourself why. Did God make television? If He did, it would be a WHOLE LOT better! No, what He made is eternal and is real. When you breath in, do you no longer notice? Who gives you air to breath and life to live? God, the creator of all the beauty in the world, of trees, the beach, sunsets, and Cocker Spaniels. All your works in this life will eventually fade away, but you won't because God loves you, because God is Love. What matters most is Love.
I love many things in this life but I love them because I first loved God and I love God because He first loved me. Having love from Love, I have love to share. In the end, all that would matter will be love. Experience and love. Treasure the quiet moments that are too often overlooked. And finally see that even in the silence is the whisper of the voice of God. Even in the emptiness, in the hurt, in the pain, there is Love. That hope is what life is all about. Then, in the end, you can say "I have loved." and be content knowing "I am loved."
